Pretty good stuff but we are coming in the middle of the story. Great art but hard to follow, like reading a middle chapter of a Tolkien, George RR Martin or Robert Jordan book. However, it is intriguing to make one go look for more, and that's what it is supposed to do: entice. This could be a great world. The villainess is intriguing, as well. I would find out more about Artesia.

I was really entertained and surprised by this. A great combination of sci-fi with plenty of good dialogue and character development (I actually understood all the little differences about the characters, hard to say with most comics). While the art was some kind of computer graphics, as long as the good story is there, the art was good and appropriate. A great little tale, and intriguing enough to make me look for issue #2. This is what I'm talking about when the author gives you a whole story with believable and interesting characters, with a great hook for more.

Confused but extremely intrigued. Exactly what it is supposed to be--a teaser. Yet it retains a certain really cool whole element feeling. The art, while dark, was fascinating to try to figure out.

Nowhere near as good as the first one, although the story "Ian Eden in Hell" is pretty darn good with really good art. I would read a whole comic like that one. The other stories are just flat with bad art.

I liked this, except for the extremely predictable, hokey, and poorly drawn "31 Flavors" story. Interesting art in the stories and just a neat little idea. Back to the realm of comics having multiple and FULL stories in each issue. Well worth a download, especially for free. After this, I would try full issues of some of the concepts presented by these guys--and that is saying something.

Mysterious enough and the premise is extremely interesting. However, I don't have a lot of buy-in with the characters yet. So far it is just your typical guns-blazing heroine. It almost feels like they were trying to write a script where the actors would fill in a lot of these blanks. I would be interested in reading the others but, truthfully, not for $3.99 a digital download--maybe 99 cents.

Not even worth downloading. Even for a zero issue, there is no story here. There's no hook--I don't care that there is action but it is mindless action that I can tell is going to lead to even more mindless action. Also, there is no "exciting glimpse at a diverse mix of other projects coming from Top Cow" in this issue. This whole thing stinks.

Ok I loved this. Not only is it witty but it is filled with little in-jokes that will make any fan of the superhero genre chuckle.

It's not all that bad. There is some characterization, albeit formulaic and cliche. It's sort of like Mad Max without cars, or Waterworld without water. Unfortunately, it has the feel of a comic that you know the entire plot to without reading subsequent issues. Really hope the author has some major plot switches in mind. The art, while simple, is acceptable and expressive. However, I still have no idea why the cover has that image (yes, I can guess it comes from the war, but there is nothing about it actually in this issue). I would read additional issues to this but don't know if I would pay too much.

Thanks, the feedback is appreciated, and there will be major plot development, albeit slow at times. The price will stay the same, so anyone who wants to read it, certainly can. I do this for the joy of doing it, not money! :) |

So bad I don't know where to begin. This looks like a ninth-grader's art project that he only halfway cared about. The story is confusing, jumbled, and sophomoric at best. Should we be laughing at this book? Is it a comedy? It sure doesn't feel like it but it tries to be funny. The hero is laughable and we have no idea what his powers are or any motivation for him. This is trying to be like a superhero Dresden Files but fails miserably. I can't believe anyone would pay money for this or any issue of this series. This kind of comic makes me want to stop trying any free comic from DriveThru because I have noticed that free means horrible and a half.

I remember when the story in a comic book like this would be just the three or four page prologue for the rest of the comic. Now these full issues are what used to be summed up in a few pages and then the rest of the story would proceed. I mean, MAKESHIFT MIRACLE is ok...I am intrigued by the protagonist's personal story, and the visions and the wandering work well. The paintings are nice, sometimes. Look again at the paintings and you have full pages that show DIRT, for Pete's sake. Again, and this is my critique of the whole industry, comics have to tell a full story in the first issue. Because if this is indicative of the whole series, it could take twelve issues for anything whatsoever to even develop. Independents MUST start telling full stories, especially in that crucial first issue.

In the eight minutes it took me to read the whole thing, I was constantly asking myself what the *&%^ was happening. There were scene shifts that don't make any sense, and I only have a vague understanding of the characters. I kind of know where this is going, sort of a Spiderwick Chronicles but with Grandfather's map and not the faerie book. This is another case where a complete read, instead of being broken up into nine installments, would completely help, because I am sure my questions get answered. But I have no vested interest as to the rest of the story now that I have to stop reading.

All it is is background. It's nice-looking, interesting set-up, but without rules and sample gameplay, how will I have any idea if I like it? This may be for the already hardcore RPG gamer, not a novice like myself who hasn't RPG'd since the 80s with Dungeons and Dragons.

Evocative of FELL. I enjoyed this. Great, in-depth art. I want to continue the series.

289 MB download?? This story is exactly what I mean lately about a lot of independents--no real story development and no hook to make me chase down subsequent issues. I thought it was intriguing about "seeding" the planet earth back in dinosaur times. I just wish there were a few more text boxes explaining what the heck was going on. It took me exactly seven minutes to read it from cover to cover and I do not think that is a good thing. These kinds of independents need to have more pages in first issues, just to get a sense what kind of story to expect. Give a full story, through the entire plot structure of exposition through resolution, and we will get hooked. I would only get the next issues if they were free downloads too, and I still don't understand why the download for just this PDF was 289 MB.
