Overview Achilles, Agamemnon, Ajax, Diomedes, Hector, Helen, Odysseus, Paris…some of the greatest names in history based on the greatest epic in literature….the Iliad. Here is a retelling of the classic epic but from the human perspective rather than the Gods. Covered are the events that led to the Trojan War and what the consequences were. All the great heroes are here, in all their glory and all their failings. The struggle for Troy was a war that lasted for ten years and the epic saga from Homer has influenced literature since the day it was conceived. The Greeks and the Trojans. They fought over the woman known as Helen, claimed to be the most beautiful woman in the world. Here is the story of that war…the story of Troy. Troy was a two issue series that was completed in a graphic novel which contained issues 3 and 4 plus the first two. The other issues will be available soon. Issue 1 As Paris is visiting the Greeks, he becomes smitten with Menelaus’ wife, Helen. Taking her to Troy, the Greeks see this as a reason to initiate war against their greatest trading rivals. The Kings of Greece get ready to embark, although most of them reluctantly, and Cassandra, sitting in the fortress of Troy warns that the war will bring disaster but she is cursed that no one will believe her prophecy. This issue serves as a preview for the collection that will be coming out in 2007.
