The Future ain't what it used to be...

2000 AD. - the year that was to usher in a new millennium filled with hope and promise. Instead it marked the beginning of the End. From the dust of the Middle East there rose a charismatic leader named Darius who united his Arab brethren in a Final Jihad. Surrounded by an implacable enemy, Israel struck with their nuclear arsenal. Darius responded in kind, and in one terrible afternoon the world's centers of culture and history were wiped from the map.

Surprisingly, the cities of the United States were spared. The survivors learned that a US Corporation called COMSAFE had secretly developed an effective network of defense sattelites. COMSAFE technology had spared humanity from total annihilation...but the worst was yet to come.

The economic collapse that followed the Final Jihad soon led to a second American revolution. Humanity had nearly wiped itself out, and now the survivors of Armageddon fought on, seemingly Hell-bent on finishing the job. Assessing the grim situation, COMSAFE's master computer arrived at the only logical conclusion: humans must be saved from their own self-destructive nature...

But some still cling to the belief that there is more to life than can be processed by a computer. And one very special warrior will stake the future of the human race upon the power of her faith...
